Photographing the Signature Room and Kids Club at Sofitel Krabi
We recently photographed two new spaces at Sofitel Krabi Phokeethra Golf & Spa Resort: the redesigned Signature Room and their new flagship Kids Club based on The Little Prince.
As with most interior shoots, the process started with scouting. Before setting up any equipment, we spent time familiarizing ourselves with the spaces and observing how the light moved through the rooms during the day.

Scouting and Understanding the Light

When photographing hotels, the quality and direction of daylight often determine when a space should actually be photographed. Taking the time to observe how the light evolves throughout the day helps identify the moment when the space looks its best.
Once the timing is clear, we usually take a few test shots to lock in the main angles. By the time the shoot day arrives, most of the key decisions are already made.

Capturing the Spaces

On shoot day things are fairly straightforward, but a lot of time goes into making sure every detail is taken care of. I always try to capture scenes that feel natural and leave post production for what cannot realistically be fixed on site.
The Kids Club required a slightly different approach. Spaces designed for children tend to feel more dynamic, so the goal was simply to keep the images structured while still capturing some of that energy.

Both shoots followed the same principle: spend time understanding the space first, then photograph it when the light is doing most of the work.
