Yasothon rocket festival

I recently got back from shooting an ‘explosive’ festival in northeastern Thailand, locally know as Bun Bang Fai (rocket festival). For the full story you can either visit the feature section of this website, while a complete selection of pictures is available through Nur photo.

Celebrity Chef Chumpol Jangprai

Recently I had the pleasure (and honour) to photograph Thailand’s Iron Chef Chumpol Jangprai for a magazine client. The shooting took place at chef Chumpol’s new venture, Siam Wisdom, a cosy place set in a traditional Thai house right in the centre of Bangkok.

The spirit of Thailand

Thai Airways published the advertorial we photographed for their April issue of Sawasdee magazine. Many thanks to The Blue Elephant and Jim Thompson Restaurant and Lounge for their time and for the delicious food and drinks!

Bangkok shutdown

After over two months of anti-government protests in Bangkok, the last wave of demonstrations aim to shut down completely the Thai capital city and paralyse all government activities. This is a selection of images from the “Bangkok shutdown”. Click on the images for a full size preview.

Anti-government demonstrations in Thailand

For the past two months anti-government demonstrations have rocked the Thai capital Bangkok. What started as a peaceful protest to block a controversial anti-amnesty bill has now become what many academics and political commentators consider an anti-democratic effort to oust the current government and reform the country. Here is a selection of images I took in the past few weeks.

Marta and Darek’s wedding in Bangkok

A very original wedding for Marta and Darek in Bangkok, which took us to the old Chinatown, the canals on the Thonburi side of the city, Lumphini Park and finally the rooftop restaurant at Cloud 47. Congratulations!

Thailand launch of new Manfrotto 190 tripod series

Thanks to Manfrotto’s brand manager Simone Grisenti and Manfrotto Thailand I got the chance to preview their new 190 tripod series.
All considered it seems a well thought and designed product and I like that you are able to choose between a 3 section version for extra rigidity and a 4 section option for extra portability. Also great is a link that lets you attach accessories such as an off-camera flash or reflectors directly to the tripod. Considering an upgrade!

Thailand anti government protests

A protester records on her phone the anti-government demonstration at the Democracy monument in Bangkok. Thousands gathered in a bid to oust the current government.

Rustic Pathways-Summer 2014 Catalogue

At the end of July I spent a few weeks in Northern Loas to photograph the 2014 catalogue for Rustic Pathways, a US company offering worldwide travel and service programs. In Luang Prabang, Na Som, Nong Kiaw and other rural parts of Laos, I was lucky to see and do some amazing things in what is truly a wonderful country. These are just some images that I shot during dead times… They won’t probably make the final catalogue edit, but I like them just as well.
